How You Can Help At Home
Make listening to a story a regular part of your child's bedtime routine.  Reading aloud will enhance vocabulary, encourage imagination and creativity.

Before reading a book talk briefly about the cover, title, and illustrations.  See if your son/daughter can predict what is going to happen in the story.

After reading a story, talk about it for a few minutes.  Share your favorite parts.

Practice writing first and last name correctly.

Sing and write the alphabet.

Write and say your phone number.

Play I Spy. Looking for letters, colors, shapes, numbers etc...

Practice tracing and cutting .

Practice tying shoe laces.

Practice buttoning shirts, pants, coats, and be able to zip zippers.

Practice counting and recognizing numbers to ten.

Allow your child to help with cooking a special recipe.

Don't forget that your child will change rather quickly this year.  What they won't be able to do today, they may be able to do in a couple of weeks!
