Milo went to the Minnesota Zoo!           (April 2004)
He did very well with the animals - he definitely noticed some more than others, and vice versa. In addition to sits, drops, and stays, we had some good practice working in crowds and with groups of active children nearby, and we worked on quite a few door switches to open/close doors (with the cue "switch," Milo does a "rise" onto the switch, pushing it with his paws to activate the switch).
The meekrats' response to Milo - they were on full alert!
The camels were very interested in Milo, following him as we passed. Milo enjoyed watching them - he was very interested, but behaved well. We practiced some "sit and stays" on the bridge nearby.
Milo really enjoyed watching the fish in the aquariums. Dolphins and this huge turtle really caught his eye. He did some really nice "sit and stays" by the aquariums, even with all the people and children around.
Practicing a "rise" on the Tropical Trail
Milo did a "rise" on the railing to watch the ducks in the beaver pond.

Milo and an otter - neither seemed to notice one another!
