GAME RECAP - SATURDAY JUNE 10
The Diamondbacks scored two runs in the seventh and four in the eighth to erase a 4-3 deficit and beat the Senators 9-4 at Madison Park #2. Brian Olstinski had two hits for the DBacks, including a 3-RBI triple. Jeff Wilson had two hits and 2 RBI, and Gary Witthuhn and Carlos Andaluz each had 2 hits and 2 runs. Witthuhn started on the mound for the Dbacks, giving up 4 unearned runs in six innings. Wilson pitched the final three innings for the win. For the Senators, Charlie Barr, Dave Geis, and Pintor each had a hit and scored,
and Paul LoDuc and JR Rincon also had hits.

GAME RECAP - SATURDAY JUNE 3
At Zablocki Park #2 the Dbacks jumped to a 4-2 lead with a four-run rally in the sixth, but the Muskies fought back with single runs to tie the game, leaving the teams in a 5-5 10 inning deadlock as time expired. George Thimmesch had a pair of hits and scored a run for the DBacks. Thimmesch started the sixth-inning rally, getting on base via an error. Steve Basthemer followed with a base hit, Gary Witthuhn and Brian Olstinski reached on errors, and Darriel Witthuhn and Jeff Wilson followed with base hits. The DBacks scored the go-ahead run in the 10th as Ron Krawczyk walked, moved to second on Keith Kempski's sacrifice bunt, and scored on Tom Cavey's single. It wasn't enough, though, as the Muskies tied the game in the bottom of the inning.

The Diamondbacks mustered only three hits -- singles by Gary Witthuhn, Brian Olstinski, and Jeff Wilson -- and one run, while the Rangers had 10 hits in cruising to an 11-1 win at Henry Aaron Field. John Arnold was the starting pitcher for the Rangers.

The Dbacks pounded out 15 hits and withstood a ninth-inning rally to beat the Athletics 10-9 at Rainbow Park. Brian Olstinski led the way, going 3 for 5 with two runs scored, and Darriel Witthuhn had 2 hits and 4 RBI. George Thimmesch and Terry Spears each added two hits, Carlos Andaluz had 2 hits and 2 runs, Jeff Wilson had a hit and scored 2 runs.
Gary Witthuhn got the win, pitching 8 strong innings and giving up 4 unearned runs.

The Mets jumped to a three-run lead in the first and never trailed as they beat the Dbacks 11-2 in the season opener on a chilly and windy day at Zablocki Field #2. Eight DBacks errors led to seven unearned runs. Terry Spears, George Thimmesch, Gary Witthuhn, Al Schulman, and Mark Snead had hits for the DBacks.

At Zablocki Park #2, the Dbacks jumped to an early lead, scoring 1 run in the first inning and 2 runs in the second, then added big innings in the 5th and 9th in beating the Senators 14-1. DBacks pitchers Steve Basthemer, Gary Witthuhn (W), and Brian Olstinski combined to allow just 2 hits and 1 unearned run over 9 innings. CF Terry Spears was 4-5 with 3 runs, 2 RBI, and 2 triples; LF Al Schulman was 3-4 with 2 runs; and C Tom Cavey, 1B Jeff Wilson, and DH Carlos Andaluz each had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Dave Geis (playing in his last game for the Senators) and Phil Smith had the only Senators hits.

JEFF WILSON PITCHED THE DBACKS PAST THE GIANTS ON A HOT AFTERNOON AT MADISON PARK. WITH THE TEMPERATURE IN THE MID 90'S, JEFF KEPT THE GIANTS IN CHECK ALLOWING ONLY 2 RUNS (1 ER) IN TOSSING HIS FIRST COMPLETE GAME OF THE SEASON.
JEFF WAS ALSO 4-4 AT THE PLATE.

GAME RECAP - SATURDAY JULY 22 GAME 1
The Dbacks' Darriel Witthuhn singled in the go-ahead run (Brian Olstinski) in the bottom of the seventh, ending the scoring in a back-and-forth game for a 5-4 D-Backs win. The game started as a pitchers' duel between the DBacks' Gary Witthuhn and Mark Holzwart of the Giants. The Giants opened the scoring with an unearned run in the 4th, but the Diamondbacks answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth as Steve Basthemer singled in Olstinski, then Ron Krawczyk followed with a 2-RBI double to left field. The Giants fought back with three of their own in the top of the sixth, but Brian Olstinski took the mound for the Dbacks with 2 outs and the bases loaded and got a key strikeout. Olstinski then held the Giants scoreless over the final 2 innings to earn his first win of the season. Starter Gary Witthuhn pitched 5-2/3 innings, struck out four, and allowed just 1 earned run.
GAME RECAP - SATURDAY JULY 22 GAME 2
The Mets jumped to a quick lead, scoring six runs in the first two innings, in romping to a 14-3 win. The Diamondbacks mustered just seven hits, three of them by Gary Witthuhn, who also had two RBIs. Brian Olstinski, Carlos Andaluz, Mark Sneed, and Ron Krawczyk had the other DBacks hits.

At Wisconsin Ave Park, the Muskies jumped on three Diamondbacks pitchers for 15 runs while allowing just six hits in beating the DBacks 15-2. Gary Witthuhn and Terry Spears had 2 hits each for the DBacks, and Witthuhn added a pair of RBIs. The only other DBacks hits were singles by Jeff Wilson and Tom Cavey.

The Dbacks suffered a tough loss to the Athletics at Madison Park by the score of 5-4, giving up the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 9th. 2B Joe Alivo singled in the winning run for the A's.The Dbacks held a 4-2 lead after CF Terry Spears hit a 2 run triple and scored on P Gary Witthuhn's single. Gary pitched a complete game, recording 4K's in one inning.
