Being a Stanford JCSC Fellow

It is the responsibility of the Jewish Campus Service Corp Fellow to connect with as many students as possible and create opportunities that meet the Jewish community needs of these students. My engagement work has focused on one-on-one coffee dates and target group specific programs. Being a Stanford JCSC Fellow has been a lot of fun. Over the course of the year, through a variety of different educational and fun programs as well as individual conversations and coffee dates, I have had the opportunity to:

  • Generate and participate in dialogue within the Jewish community making it both a more intellectual and inclusive environment
  • Add new programs that attract a students with targeted interests in activism, Israel, women’s issues, and inter-community relations
  • Develop relationships with individual students, helping them to connect with me and the Stanford Jewish community
  • Create “cool” Jewish programs, decreasing the stigma that still exists around Jewish life on campus
