Escaflowne, piloted by Van Fanel, vs Tallgeese 3, piloted by Treize Kushrenada
	Treize sat in the cockpit of his Mobile Suit, looking at a dossier of Van Fanel, his opponent. The crowd around the Mount Hua arena made bets, cheered for favorites, and ate food. Meanwhile a white dragon came flying out of the sky. When it got closer, it was plain to everyone that this was not any dragon, but the Guymelef Escaflowne. Transforming into humanoid mode, the white 15-meter suit of armor landed in front of Treize.      Treize drew his beam sabre. To his surprise, Van also pulled out a beam sabre, instead of the metal sword that was its main weapon. Then Escaflowne rushed at the Tallgeese 3, and Treize prepared his Mobile Suit to meet the charge.
As the Escaflowne rushed at Tallgeese it brought its beam sabre up and slashed downward. But Tallgeese sidesteps with astounding speed, shoots out its heat rod(the whip-looking thing on its shield), and wraps it around Escaflowne's leg. Giving a hard yank, Tallgeese 3 then stabs downward with its own beam sabre. But the Escaflowne brings its own sabre up to block it. A contest of leverage begins.      But the Tallgeese3 has advantage of higher ground, and is able to put all of its force to bear on the Escaflowne. Suddenly Treize manuveurs his Mobile Suit into the air, dragging the Escaflowne with it. Transforming into Dragon Mode, Escaflowne also begins pulling at the Tallgeese 3. At this point Treize charges up the beam cannon mounted on Tallgeese's shoulder, fires it in the direction of Escaflowne, and misses. But the whole point of this manuveur was to make Escaflowne attempt to dodge, making it vulnerable to a slash from Tallgeese's beam sabre. Escaflowne's arm is cut off, and Treize pulls the heat rod back.      "You don't charge aggresively enough." calls Treize from his comlink. He then charges forward, kicking Escaflowne in the stomach, then running its Drag Energist through with his beam sabre. Treize then flies up to the Round 2 arena.
