Feeding the Flames part 10 By: Juuchan By the end of the first week of his pregnancy, Trunks was thoroughly frustrated. He lay in bed, tail twitching, trying to discover where his plans had stalled. He'd decided quickly that it would be best to move in on Gohan slowly, get a general idea of his feelings, then ambush him. His initial reaction to the children, once he'd gotten over his surprise, had been very promising. So what had happened? Trunks supposed he'd left Gohan alone for too long at some point, and he'd become embroiled in self-recrimination and guilt. It had been clear that he hadn't believed Trunks when he'd told him he didn't mind. Now Trunks was stuck. If he gave Gohan a very obvious hint, or even told him outright, he was so certain that Trunks couldn't possibly mean it that he would find -some- "intelligent reason" to refute and dismiss it. It was all his instincts, he'd gotten "confused" because of the Heat, that he felt obligated for some reason.. Trunks sighed. The root of the problem was that Gohan would assume it was a -sudden- thing, somehow triggered by the heat, when he had, in fact, felt this way for -years-. He had to convince Gohan that he was genuinely attracted to him, and that it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment feeling either. But first he needed a way of getting Gohan closer to him for longer. The more comfortable he got.. Trunks drifted off to sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trunks groaned as he slowly woke, wanting nothing more than to simply continue lounging there. His energy levels were at an all- time low, but he wouldn't feel any better until he ate, then snagged Gohan to take his turn supporting their children for awhile. He stumbled down the stairs and sagged into a chair in what he feared had become a morning routine. But it was getting harder. The more the children grew, the more ki they needed, so the less he had left after a full night of feeding it to them. At this rate he'd need someone to bring him breakfast in bed by the end of his second week. Finishing his meal in record time, Trunks sought out Gohan so he could perhaps get some -real- rest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Trunks found him, Gohan was trying to meditate in a patch of sunlight in the yard-gone-wild behind the house. As Trunks flopped down next to him, Gohan was startled out of his trance and blinked over at his sudden companion. Trunks' hand shot out, grabbed one of Gohan's, and placed it on his stomach, demanding he take up the burden for a time. Trunks nearly purred with happiness as he was relieved of the strain, for a time at least. Gohan took the opportunity to observe him. Trunks' ki levels were definitely decreasing morning by morning. But he didn't know what to do about it. Trunks, apparently, had an idea. "You need to sleep with me." Gohan's concentration was broken as he gaped down at his student in total shock. Trunks cracked open an eye to watch him. "If you stay with me, to -sleep-, then we can take turns supporting them through the night. Neither of up should be absolutely drained by morning, that way." He glared at Gohan. "I will -not- continue to be the only one supporting them at night." Without any other options, Gohan agreed, though a feeling of dread began to mount. He really hoped he could stay in control of the various parts of his psyche through the night. |
