Feeding the Flames
part 12

Things fell into a routine for the next two weeks.  Gohan always rose first in the morning, believing Trunks asleep.  They went
together for breakfast, then Gohan would be sent out for hunting or ferrying materials for Bulma, dropping back in to give Trunks ki
periodically during the day.  Night began with them falling asleep somewhat separated.

Trunks decided it was time to alter the routine, and get Gohan to begin a project he'd had in mind from the very beginning of
his pregnancy.  He waited until dinner, so Bulma and Gohan were in the same room.

"Gohan, I need you to build a house.  Kaasan, could you design it?"

Silence reigned over the table, the other two gaping at him in shock.

"A.. house?  Trunks, why do you want another one?"  His mother paused. "You don't want to live separate, do you?!  I thought
you were okay with Gohan!  What are you--"

"--Kaasan, I don't intend it for just me." He interrupted her, then shushed her as she began to speak again.  "Or just me and
the children.  Or just -anyone-.  I want us to move out of Capsule Corp., but first we need a place to move to."

Gohan finally spoke up, still glancing from mother to son and observing their interactions.  "But why do you want out of Capsule
Corp.?"

Trunks sighed and leaned back in his chair.  "We're too obvious here.  We've been living in the -same- -place- since before I
was born.  While the city and this building have been struck by the Jinzouningen already, it's the only one in the area which is
obviously inhabited.  It is a -target-.  Those monsters are not stupid, as much as we wish they were."  His expression had been
gradually hardening throughout his speech, and he now looked so determined that neither Gohan nor his mother were willing to
interrupt him or change his mind.  "It's too dangerous.  My children will NOT live here."
