Feeding the Flames
part 16

Every morning, it was becoming harder and harder for Gohan to
get out of bed. This was not because of the ki drain to the
children, which remained relatively constant, but arose rather from a
reluctance to leave his comfortable position, wrapped around Trunks.
>From the beginning of the whole Heat ordeal he'd been trying to
isolate and close off the parts of himself that felt things he
deemed 'inappropriate' toward his student. For a time it had seemed
to work, but they were slowly inching their way to the forefront of
Gohan's mind again. The feelings had begun strengthening
dramatically after he began sharing a bed with Trunks, so he credited
it to proximity.

The problem was that he had no way to distance himself from
these feelings, as he had before. He'd need some time alone, half a
day at the very least, and he simply didn't have the time. If
helping Trunks were his only task Gohan might have managed it, but
he'd begun work on their new house and it was too important to
postpone, especially for personal reasons he should have -some- way
to deal with!

These feelings were absolutely inexcusable, but Gohan
couldn't seem to do anything about them. The urge to lounge in bed
cuddled up against Trunks was bad enough, but he was also becoming
hard-pressed to keep his hands to himself the rest of the time as
well. He kept managing to restrain himself at the very last moment
to stop from stroking Trunks' hair, taking his hand, or touching
that -fascinating- tail.. and all sorts of casual touches. While
Gohan had come from a rather physically affectionate family, Trunks
had not, and furthermore Gohan had never behaved around him in that
manner before, so it was bound to startle him at the very least.

He was going to have to find a better way to control himself,
become oblivious to the myriad temptations he faced throughout the
day, or Trunks was certain to notice soon. Gohan had no idea where
that would lead him, but he was certain it wouldn't be pretty.
