Feeding the Flames
part 5

      Once she'd spoken to Gohan, Bulma had nothing to do until he
and Trunks were, well, finished.  Then, Gohan should bring him back
to her lap and she could monitor her son until he woke again, perhaps
figuring out how the babies were "created."  Vejiita really -hadn't-
been very specific about that part, but maybe if she didn't discover
how, Trunks would be able to tell her later.

      For now, all she could do with any hope of productivity was
finish reading the file.  There had been two sections, one about the
heat and it's effects, and the other apparently -about- the Saiya-
jins who sent into heat.  After reading the first section, she'd
rushed off to find Gohan, so she hadn't yet read the second one.
Maybe she could find something in there to DO about it.. Her face
took on the highly determined she'd used on Gohan earlier. Her baby
was too young to have babies!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Bulma cursed under her breath.  If Vejiita was right, there
was nothing she could do except "let nature take it's course," but
she -hated- yielding to anything!  Dead for over 12 years, and the
man was -still- anticipating her!  He'd headed off every one of her
ideas, and of course she couldn't figure out if he was exaggerating,
or even outright lying, or not.  At least, until later.  She would -
definitely- check some of these out.
      From what Vejiita's file said, there was NO way to abort the
pregnancy, because the babies were somehow not really -there-,
physically.  The only way you could remove them would be birth, or
the death of the Saiya-jin carrying them, and even then they might
instinctively attempt an early birth to save the kids.  She'd just -
avoided- losing Trunks, she certainly wasn't going to risk him now!
Also, Vejiita said he would have -very- strong parental instincts and
protective urges, and a kind of bond with the children.  So, giving
them up to someone else so he didn't have to raise them wasn't
possible, either.  Besides, who would they have been able to trust
with them?  Where would they be -safe-?  And how would a human be
able to handle a Saiya-jin baby alone, anyway, let alone more than
one of them?  It was best not to think on it.
      Of course, her main concerns about Trunks raising them were
that, first of all, he was just too damned YOUNG to have kids of his
own!  Vejiita countered by saying, essentially, that he was more than
mature enough, even if she hadn't noticed, and that his parenting
instincts would be guiding him very strongly.  She'd watch and see
how he reacted when he woke up and was himself again, then make her
conclusions about the accuracy of that.
      Her second main reservation was that, perhaps some time in
the future Trunks would want to settle down with a nice girl and have
kids.  Besides the complications that already having children would
cause, there was the fact that he'd had no choice about how he lost
his virginity, not that there was any way she could really blame
Gohan.  After all, for all -she- knew, Gohan had still been a virgin,
too!  Still, she'd been afraid that maybe this would.. confuse
Trunks, or something like that.  Vejiita blew that out of the water.
From what he stated, very plainly, there was no way it could have
-confused- him.  He said that any and ALL Saiya-jin who went into
heat were attracted -solely- to males, throughout their lives,
-before- as well as after their first heat.  So much for her image of
Trunks and some nice girl..
      She sighed in defeat, acknowledging Vejiita's latest victory
over her.  Fine, she wouldn't interfere.  But Gohan still hadn't
brought Trunks back yet, and might not for some time, so all she had
left to do was finish reading the file.  She'd discovered a third
section she hadn't been aware of:  what needed to happen after heat.
From what she'd skimmed, she was going to have to make sure Gohan
stuck around after he brought Trunks in.  It would be bad, and
dangerous for Trunks if he left.
