Slowly, she picked up the glass and gulped down the burning liquid. The
feeling had become welcome and pleasant. She reached for the bottle to
refill the glass. Her arm knocked the cup off the table. She swore, took
a swig from the bottle and bent down to clean up the broken fragments.

She cursed again as the glass cut into her fingers. Blood was all over
the floor. It was all she could see. The memories came flooding back.
She jumped up, screamed and swore again.

"Such words for a women of your position. Tsk! Tsk!”

The voice haunted her. She grabbed a towel from the sink and wrapped
it tightly around her fingers. She turned to her balcony. She opened
the door and stepped out. It had begun to snow lightly.

“Snow… The first snow.” She murmured. “So it’s been a year, a full
circle. She said the snow completes the circle. It’s time.”

She reached into no where and pulled out a red pen.

“MARS CRYSTAL POWER!”

~~

She sighed and continued to chop the carrots. Slice, slice. Her
restaurant was unusually quiet, but not any less busy. All the
delivery people were out as well as more than half the kitchen
staff. The methodical chopping put her in a trance. Chop, chop,
chop. The sound seemed to fill the room.

She heard the ding! Of the bell at the counter, but ignored it.
One of the rookies glanced at her, than quickly went to help the
customer. He was here to pick something up. As the cash register
slammed shut, she lost her concentration, and the knife hit her
finger. The blood covered the carrots. She cursed and grabbed a
towel to stop the bleeding. Her assistant walked back in.

“It’s begun to snow.”

“The first snow fall of the year. The complete circle. You can go.
We’re closing up early.” Her assistant nodded and left. She reached
into her packed and pulled out the green pen.

“JUPITER CRYSTAL POWER!”

~~

She sighed in exasperation as she turned her car. Her agent
had called saying she was needed for the shoot an hour earlier.
She parked her car and stepped out.

Quickly she entered the building. Her agent greeted and directed
her into the dressing room. As she was being prepared for the
shoot, her mind began to wonder. She thought of the fateful day
that had launched her modeling/acting career.

No! She though, shaking her head to clear it. She didn’t want to
remember. After her shoot, as she walked out of the building, she
felt the first flakes of winter snow fall. She got in her car and
drove towards home. She passed some children playing in the snow.

As she pulled up at a stop sign, she smiled at a small blond girl
playing with her little brother. She laughed as the boy fell in
surprise. The girl had thrown a snow ball at him. Suddenly, she
saw the snow stained with blood. Quickly she drove away.

“It’s time.” she whispered. “The circle is complete.”

She reached into her purse and pulled out an orange pen.

“VENUS CRYSTAL POWER!”

~~

“Scalpel.”

She said holding out her hand. She felt the cold metal through the
latex glove.

The patient was a young blond teenager about her age. She shouldn’t
even be doing the operation, and she knew it but no one else was
around. She had been studying to be a doctor all her life. She was
the most qualified intern. She had to risk her career to save the
girl’s life.

The paramedics had said she was hit by a drunk driver. She had lain,
bleeding, for most of the night before anyone had found her. When
she was rushed in, it was almost too late. Too late, the others had
said. She refused to believe it.

The sharp beep filled the room. The girl’s heart had stopped.

“Clear!”

She withdrew her hands. The blood was almost more than she could
bare. The last time she had this much blood on her hands…

No! The patient… She thought.

“… too late…”was all she heard. She looked down into the girl’s
blue eyes. She stroked the blond hair, thinking of the last time
she had stared down into dead blue eyes.

She felt hands on her arms leading her away. She heard the
soothing voice comforting her. Telling her she had done her
best. She found herself in the staff room, alone, staring out
the window.

“Snow… the first… a full circle… It’s time… finally!”

She pulled out a blue pen.

“MERCURY CRYSTAL POWER!”

~~

The final notes rang out across the room. She lowered the
violin. Her accompanist stood beside her and they bowed.
Taking her hand, the pianist led her off stage. Behind the
curtain they spoke.

“Wonderful as always.’ She said, smiling.

“You enchanted them, and me.” Was the response.

The two kissed briefly, before she placed her violin in it’s
case and carefully locked it. Gracefully she lifted the case
and hand-in-hand they left the building.

They walked out to the yellow sports car where the pianist
opened the door and helped her in. She rested the violin case
across her lap. Her partner got in and started the car. They
drove for a while, in silence. The driver turned on the
windshield wipers to brush away the delicate snow flakes.

“The first.” She said. Her partner said nothing.

“It’s time. We must…” she received a nod and the car pulled
over to the side. They both stepped out of the car. She reached
into her purse and pulled out an aqua pen. Her friend pulled out
a gold pen.

“NEPTUNE PLANET POWER!”

“URANUS PLANET POWER!”

~~

“Look! So much snow! When will it be like that here?” The
young girl asked.

“Soon. Too soon.” was the response.

“I’ll never see daddy again, will I?”

“You have a greater destiny.”

“I won’t… I miss him.”

“Are you unhappy?”

“No.”The little girl turned the page and continued to look
through the book. She smiled at the picture of her dad. She
frowned at the picture of a strange women.

“Who’s that?” she asked.

“You’re mother.” The older women wiped a tear from her cheek.
She had found the old photo album in a box of the younger
child’s things. The girl jumped up and went to the window.

“Snow!” she exclaimed.

“The first snow fall.”

“It’s time, right?”

“Yes.”

“SATURN PLANET POWER!”

“PLUTO PLANET POWER!”

~~

“MAKE-UP!”
The voices rang out, across the noisy world, and she heard.
They had all come full circle and now knew they were ready to
pledge themselves. Forever.

“It’s time.” she whispered. He came up behind her and put
his arms around her waist.

“The snow…” he said.

“Their voices…” she replied.

“We have to…”

“I have to.”

“I know.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“I know.”

She smiled and turned in his arms. His lips met hers. They
kissed for the final time.

“They’re coming.” She whispered. He pulled out a rose and she, a brooch.

“MOON ETERNAL! MAKE-UP!”

~~

When they arrived, they found Super Eternal Sailor Moon and Tuxedo
Mask, standing in each others arms.

Quietly they formed a circle around the pair. Tuxedo Mask stepped
back, but still held her gloved hands. Her brooch began to glow
and as the light washed over them, she felt the change. When the
light had died down, she stood as Neo-Queen Serenity and Endymion,
as he now was, wore a lavender tuxedo.

Quietly and slowly he released her hands and stepped into the circle.
Before the eyes of her most loyal followers, Neo-Queen Serenity lifted
the crystal between her hands above her head. They watched as she
poured her energy into the legendary crystal. The purifying light
washed over them all and the world. Suddenly it was too much. One
by one, the senshi fell, than Endymion until only the Queen stood.
But the Queen fell too. For it was done. Crystal Tokyo stood. Neo-Queen
Serenity’s final conscious thought was:

“The circle is complete once more.”

For covering the city and Crystal Palace were the sparkling snow flakes
like crystalline jewels.
