LADIES OF THE NIGHT
What the hell does it matter

What the hell does it matter, if a hooker is beaten and left do die? If several hookers have been murdered and strewn about in abandoned buildings over so many years, who cares? They’re just prostitutes and junkies anyway. Not upstanding, decent, law abiding, community residents. They probably don’t do anything but sell their bodies and smoke crack. The ones I see aren’t even tempting. In fact they are usually quite hideous. They litter alleyways with used condoms and drug paraphernalia, and flash their fannies at us when we drive past them in the car, (even when the kids are in the car). What a pathetic existence it must be to have to reduce yourself to such a life of degradation. But you reap what you sow . . .

I guess . . . . I guess that’s how people feel about the unsolved murders in Englewood. They must. Especially those who could prevent it from happening to someone else’s sister, or daughter, or mother, or friend. I’m not surprised that some people feel that way. Like the killer, for example. He probably doesn’t give a rat’s ass. It’s obvious because he continues to commit the very same crimes over and over again. Right under everyone’s nose in a community with one of the largest number of registered sex offenders.

All of those potential suspects. No wonder they can’t find the culprit. There are probably too many places to begin the investigation that they aren’t even sure where to start. So many names to research, so many people to question, so many places the criminal could be hiding out.

Or he might not be hiding at all. I’m figuring he must be a phenomenal mastermind that they can’t seem to catch him. Look at how quickly they got a lead on Cunannan, and he was on a cross country killing spree! But this guy (or guys) in Englewood . . . They must be geniuses to elude captors and commit crimes at the same time.

I was just watching a news report about a murdered female body that was found in an abandoned tire shop. Toward the end of the report they announced that another female corpse was found in an abandoned building in the same neighborhood. What a pity, I thought as my heart went out to a family who might soon find out why their sister hasn’t been heard from in a while. When her mother finds out that her gut feeling was true all along.

At the end of her segment, the news person, standing in front of a police station, reported another female body had been discovered in a dumpster, in a neighborhood pretty close to Englewood. It hadn’t been determined if she too was a woman of the night.
