NSR50 USA Cross Over Parts List
As you might already know, the NSR50/80 never made it over here to the USA, so finding parts can be difficult, if not time consuming!.Through out the years of owning my NSRs, I have slowly figured out which parts from US spec Honda motorcycles will work on the Japanese spec NSR50/80. If you know of any additional parts that will work, please let me know and I will add it to this list. Please note that there are no engine parts (cylinder, piston, rings, head + base gaskets) available for the NSR80 in the US unless somebody has figured out how to fit dirt bike 80cc pistons on it?

Back to Main Page
If you need an engine part for the NSR50, you are in luck because most all the parts (except the gearbox) cross over to the 1990 Honda NS50.
The factory carb jets are as the same as the Honda CT70 (any year).
Tires
The NSR shares the same size tire as the Yamaha YSR50/80. Dunlop TT91s are the most popular in the USA. I personally like the IRC.
Sprockets
The front sprocket for the NSR is the same as the Z50, XR50, and CT70 (all years). The rear sprocket can only be obtained from Sprocket Specialists. The part number is: 816. For the chain, it is the common 420 size. Don't be cheap ones, buy a good quality brand such as RK, or Regina. If you buy a cheap Taiwan made chain the NSR50 and NSR80 motors will stretch the hell out of them, way too dangerous when your going 75MPH +
Levers
The clutch (type 1 and 2) and brake lever are the same as the Honda 1982 MB5. Late model type 3 NSR uses a different clutch lever.
