Anyhow all I have done so far is collect some pics from books and the net. From these I have been able to draw up some scale plans (I will get these up on-line as soon as I can reduce them to A4 so I can scan them in)
I have actually started work now! The rear sight is now nearly complete (it's not much but its a start).
Over the next few weeks I will get all of the notes and drawings I've made on-line (including a really long and boring, i mean comprehensive plan for manufacture)
It occured to me yesterday that this gun is actually taller than my G/f!!! and since im gonna make it in full metal i guess im gonna need a two man team to carry the thing :s
Ok well I havn't managed to get the scale drawings reduced yet so i cant put that up but I can detail how im gonna build this beast.
Internals:
A Version 1 (FAMAS) gearbox will be used for two reasons.
1)there is no pistol grip on the browning so that counts out the version 2 and 3, the uzi gearbox has weaker internals than other AEG's and the PSG gearbox is not full auto
2)the mechanism is actuated by a pushrod on the version 1 box, which is ideal for this situation as the trigger on the browning is situated at the rear of the gun.
Bodywork:
As the construction of the real steel is rivited, i shall stay true to form, but i shall use aluminium sheet for the bodywork to help keep the weight down (i gotta lug this thing up the hill at firefight!!!)
Barrel
This should be the hardest part to get right, aluminium tube will be used for all of the major parts. More on this to come
The inner barrel will be a TN tightbore barrel, probably and M16 one, with the hop unit from a TM M16.
Magazine
This is a major problem.... the Browning M2 is belt fed so there is no Mag?!?!?!?!? Fortunately there should be enough space inside to have an intenal bb well with the clockwork mechanism from a G3 mag used to push the rounds into the chamber
