The downside to the size of the SMG is the short barrel, which hinders accuracy, and thus limits the long range potential of the weapoun. Assault Carbine: e.g MC51, M4, CAR15 etc... The assault carbine is a shortened assault rifle to aid manuverability in confined spaces and built up areas. This type of weapoun has a longer barrel than the smaller SMG's yet retains the mauverabiltiy. The accuracy still isn't as good as a full size assault rifle but is acceptable for all but the longest of woodland shots. In our oppinion the assault carbine is the most versetile type of gun on the Market today. Assault rifle: e.g. M16, AK47, G3, SIG 550 etc. The assault rifle is the standard armourment of almost every national army world wide. Long range and good accuracy enable soldiors to make shots at long ranges using only iron sights. This is carried over to the airsoft versions, but due to their lengthit is verry difficult to mauver effectivly in built up or hevily wooded areas. Sniper Rifle: e.g M40, PSG1, APS2 etc... What is there that needs to be said about a sniper rifle? well for those of you who dont know they are all very long, accurate, and have a verry slow rate of fire. Not a CQB weapon, a high precision long range shooting tool! Shotgun: e.g. SPAS12, M3, M870, Ithica etc... Airsoft shotguns are in general low range but high spread weapons, in essence a room clearing device. especially suited to CQB. Pistols: e.g. G17, M92F, Desert Eagle, 1911 etc.. Your under fire, your last mag has just run out, their advancing on your position, what are you going to do? Pull out your trusty sidearm thats what! a good gas blowback semi automatic pistol can save your game if used to good effect. Also very good for room entry in built up areas. CHIFF_MoA |

Now we shall take a more in-depth look at each of these types. SMG: Sub machine guns, Such as the MP5 series and the UZI SMG are essentially verry small rifles chambered for pistol rounds, in the real steel this limits their range and operational scope to close quarters battle (CQB) and Fibua (Fighting in built up areas). In aisoft skirmishing where the guns are realtivly evenly matched for range and power the small size of the gun can be used to advantage. Small guns do not protrude far from the body when they are shouldered, this conciquently means that a sub machine gun is far more manuverable than a larger gun. |
