Virtuous Patriot Integrity Award

Korean Version

Announcing the beginnings of a KMLA scholarship fund, to be offered as a prize to one graduating student each year:
The Virtuous Patriot Integrity Award; to be presented as a prize to one graduating student each year; to be awarded by the popular vote of all those who are inclined to contribute even the smallest donation to this fund. (Students, faculty, parents, and the general public worldwide...)

Criteria: One student chosen from among all students who, in their time here,
-have shown the most promise of contributing, in the future, to the prestige of Korea; and
-have most promoted a mature and responsible atmosphere for co-educational study, here.

Students who can represent Korea abroad, with such a mind-set, shall surely bring greater credit and blessing to Korea and commend this nation as all the more worthy of assuming moral, global leadership in the new millenium.

Starting this scholarship fund with an intial 500,000 won donation, we hope to raise additional funds by appealing to the sensitivities of all students, parents, and potential benefactors who agree that such a message, promoting higher moral values and maturity, would be in the best interest of KMLA. We hope to provide balance to the trendy message to the contrary, a message which currently encourages premature and excessive relationships among co-eds, both in highschool and in college.

Fortifying our students against the moral laxity that awaits them in college life is an imperative for which any school adminstration should strive, especially a school which strives to raise up a viable, global leadership.

This one-time scholarship may not be very large -- perhaps only helpful towards purchasing text books for the first semester. However, we hope that the idea will have a lasting effect in terms of promoting a more conscientious student body towards the ideal of the Integrity of a Virtuous Patriot; "towards tomorrows bright Fatherland"

To make contributions yourself, you may do so directly, by going to the KMLA home page and accessing the general donation link, there. However, you would need to read Korean:

1) Access the KMLA home page (http://minjok.hs.kr/).
2) At the top of the menu-column (left) click the "¹ÎÁ·»ç°ü°í" link...
3) Then, on that page, click the "±âºÎ±ÝÅëÀå°³¼³¾È³»" link. Once there, you should find all the details (currently in Korean only) about how to execute the process of making online donations.

Your comments, questions, and suggestions are most cordially invited.
