Her feet dangle as she eyes everyone over thoughtfully. >Minraed takes a deep breath "I thought I would begin todays's speech with some insight into my perspective on the topic which I will speak." "Hopefully this will allow everyone to see that I speak from personal experiences and concerns." >Minraed looks down briefly to gather her thoughts, then returns her eyes to everyone "I was born into a noble home, not the product of the marital bliss of two respected paragon parents as I should have been, but as the spawn of a desirous tryst between my mother and an evilly inclined grounds keeper." Dhelran coughs >Minraed grins slyly Dhelran leaves west. "Now to keep the story short, my mother's indescretion was eventually found out and, weak as she was, she begged for mercy." >Minraed stops briefly with a thoughtful pause "Let me clarify this; I do not refer to her as weak for yielding to her lustful desires, rather for being ashamed of what she had done and begging forgiveness." "On a personal note, I saw this as insulting because I then understood that she was also ashamed of me - the progeny of her own blood." >Minraed sighs definatly "Try as they did I would not give in to their manipulations. I refused to feel shame for what I was and this infuriated my mother's husband, my so called "father"" >Minraed hops up onto her feet , pacing on the ledge as she speaks to the crowd "For much of my life he taunted me, treated me as a servant in my own home, segregated me, preached to me - I would not give in to him." >Minraed chuckles softly "I refused to feel shame and this gave me strength." "This is the topic that I wish to present. Shame. It weakens our souls and renders us vulnerable." Korah nods >Minraed raises her voice confidently "We are Fiends! Is this something to be ashamed of?" "Amoung us are tax-paying citizens, home owners, justicars and otherwise contributing memers of society like anyone else." >Minraed pauses briefly to scan the faces "I speak these words today not only for fiends and dark neutrals, but for any of you who have a dark side or who indulge on occasion in a dark act." >Minraed grins evilly ".. and you know you have." Lamorak looks at you. "I urge you, do not feel ashamed of what you choose to derive pleasure from. Do not view yourself negatively or let others impose this negative impression upon you." (OATH) Belair grins "being different from Paragons, holding different moral views, is nothing to be ashamed of. Do you suppose they are ashamed? NO! Nor should we be." >Minraed jumps down into the crowd and wanders about as she speaks "Follow your desires and your own values. Be true to your own nature, and your own principles as you see fit. Do not allow yourself to be bullied into submission and conformity." >Minraed looks into your eyes as she passes you and continues "My concern is due to the fact that I have known fiends who feel shame and at times feel that the dark has betrayed them." "Feelings of shame come from within and you must battle that. Don't feel betrayed and turn from the shadow because of this. Don't allow your shame to consume you." >Minraed climbs back onto the ledge, pointing out to the crowd as she speaks "You walk in the shadow, watched over by the dark Aether." "If you indulge in pleasure at the suffering of others, Set smiles upon you." "If you delight in decietful ways - Gethsemane smiles upon you" "If you lead your life through suppressed emotion and cold calculation - Kylamane smiles upon you." "And if you indulge in sensual pleasures and bask in an existance of greed and vice - Bast smiles upon you." Minraed smiles at Belair slightly. Belair grins >Minraed gestures to the sky above "These are our Gods! As worthy as any others! And they feel no Shame!" "Do not insult their blessings and gifts by bearing shame for living your life by their holy doctrine." "Be strong within. Be true to yourself.
