TORONTO (Ticker) - The Toronto Maple Leafs have been quiet on the free agent market but re-signed defenseman Wade Belak to a multi-year contract Wednesday.
Financial terms were not disclosed for Belak, who was paid $770,000 last season, when he also saw playing time as a winger.

The 27-year-old Belak led the Leafs with 196 penalty minutes and established career highs with three goals and six assists in 55 games.

Toronto also re-signed goaltender Jamie Hodson, who split last season between St. John's of the American Hockey League and Greensboro of the East Coast Hockey League. He was recalled by the Maple Leafs on January 21 but did not see action before he was returned to the minors.
