Ernest Lee Allenbaugh and Ula Kathryn Sledd

Ernest Lee Allenbaugh was the 5th child of Millard Fillmore Allenbaugh and Mary Frances Bragg.  He was born August 19,1905, in Glen Jean, West Virginia. On May 8,1926 Ernest Lee married Ula Kathryn Sledd, in Fayette County, West Virginia.He was 20 years old, and she was 19.

Ernest died September 29,1980 at the age of 75.  He died in Beckley, West Virginia, and is buried at Blue Ridge Cemetery. Ula Kathryn died November 19,1996 in Safety Harbour, Florida.  She was 89 years old.  Her Date of Birth is December 9,1907. Ernest & Ula had 3 children. I have been researching my Family Tree for several years, picking up bits & pieces of information wherever I could.  And it went very slowly.  It was hard to document, and even harder to keep track of.  And then..............computers !!!! Well, I just became obsessed !  I purchased FAMILY TREE MAKER software, and downloaded it, and away I went. I spent hours and hours entering my data.  And then it was done.  At least all I had to offer had been totally input, read, corrected, re-read. And there it was. Well now, all of you Genealogy researchers out there, you know that feeling !!!  WHAT WAS I THINKING???? DONE?? FINISHED??? WHAT??? NO WAY !! NEVER DONE !!! I HOPE NOT ANYWAY !! And so I connected to the internet, and it was like starting all over!  I posted my ancestors names on message boards, and family forums, and that's how I met Mary Kathryn Allenbaugh, my fifth cousin.  We discovered that George Ludwig Horning is our mutual GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT grandfather! George Ludwig Horning and Katherine Keyser were apparently married in 1737. The year 2000 marks 263 years since that marriage, and the offsspring of that union are meeting and getting to know each other! Isn't Modern Technology Wonderful!
