Mary Myers & Samuel Allenbaugh

Mary Myers was born on March 18,1823, the fourth child of John Myers and Harriet Horning.

She was 20 years old when she married Samuel Allenbaugh on November 2,1843.  He was 28.

They were both born in Meyersdale, Pennyslvania.

Mary and Samuel had 13 children, but they certainly suffered a lot of hardships throughout that marriage.

Their 1st child was Harriet Allenbaugh, and she was either a premature birth or one of those "seven months" babies, because she was born May 5,1844.  If that birthdate is correct, almost exactly 6 months after they were married.  But love child or not, that poor little girl didn't make it, as she passed away July 23,1845.  14 months old.

The second baby, Susan, was born on December 10, 1845, and died March 26,1847. 

Both of these girls were born in Wayne County, Ohio, and buried in Plains Cemetery there.

Then they had Elizabeth on December 19,1847, 9 months after Susan was buried.  She lived 15 years.  She died October 24,1862.

Calvin was their 1st boy.  He was born December 11,1849.  He died at the age of 70 on March 8,1919.  He never married.  He was born in Perrysville, Ohio, and died in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hannah was born May 13,1853, and she married twice, 1st to Thomas Giffin, and next to Lewis S. Keim.  She died January 27,1928.  She was 75 when she died.

Eldorado was born November 5,1854 in Perrysville, Ohio, and he died at the age of 76 on June 21,1930.  He was married to Mary Cedilia Sigler.

Orlando came next, on November 13,1856.  He married Laura Samantha Peterson, and he died at 62.

Melissa was born July 13,1858.  She lived to be 78 years of age.  She was married on August 19,1877 to Samuel Nicholson.

Lincoln was born March 7,1861 and he also died young, at the age of 26 on September 10,1887.  He was married to Alice Dentler on March 21,1882, and 5 years later he passed away.

Martha Jane was the tenth child, born April 12,1863. She died October 10,1936.

Rhoda was born March 12,,1865 and died February 8,1943 at 78.

Millard Fillmore was born February 19,1870.  He married Mary Frances Bragg on September 23,1894.  He died at the age of 72 on March 3,1942.

Myers was the last child, born on February 19,1870. He died August 24,1870, only 6 months old.


Mary would have been  47 years old when she gave birth to Myers.  Samuel was 55.
