I suppose you can call this my 'background' page;  I've been toying with the notion of 'genealogy research' but it's a lot harder than all that family tree software claims it is...especially for Americans of African and foreign decent (which would be me in both cases).  So hopefully {maybe} a distant branch of my own tree will see this page and we'll be able to close some gaps.

The Jamaican tree - the Tewari family who resided in the Clarendon parish of Jamaica from at least the early 1900s.  The Tewaris immigrated to Jamaica from India sometime around then...but the exact time is unclear.  My grandmother's name was Iris - b.1927 (commonly known as 'Inez').  From my understanding her parents were named William and Doris (Stewart?).  Less is known about the Campbell family - my grandfather's name was Lynval Campbell and lived in Kingston, Jamaica, although I don't know if he was from there.  He was 42 when he died in 1974.

The American tree - the Allen family (probably the most familiar branch of my family).  My great-grandparents were Samuel and Lillian Jean Thompson.  Samuel was born in Petersburg, VA in 1908 to Peter and Mary Henderson.  Lillian was born in Fairmont, N.C. in 1910 to Isaiah and Isabella Pitman.  Their daughter, Theretha, is my grandmother.  The Marshall Family is originally from Monroe, N.C.  My great-grandfather's name was Albert, although it is rumored that his actual birth name was Egbert.  Nothing is known about his parents except that his mother was a Cherokee/part Cherokee.  My great-grandmother's name was Lillie Jones and her parents were Charles and Anna Blakney.  Her estimated birthdate is sometime in 1898.  Their son, Robert, is my grandfather.

If you think you might share a branch in any of the families listed above, feel free to e-mail me at MissNiceness79@yahoo.com .  Also, listed below are some other last names in my family;  split by origin - U.S. or Jamaican.

U.S. - Bookert, Brownsfield, Felton, Fitzpatrick, Hampton, Howard, Pratt, Phillips, Sousa

Jamaica - McGregor, Radlien, Rowe
