| EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the log for October 27th, or rather the first part of the log. I suffered a disconnect about halfway through the session, but not long after saving so only maybe 10 minutes or so worth of log was lost. The second half of this session's log will be placed on the website most likely right after this one. (1) DM Arkhandus: Alright, last session, the group was beginning their journey to the Shinomen Forest, and were on their way to the first stop along the way, Kita Chushin, to the north of Otosan Uchi (1) DM Arkhandus: Along the way, you encountered a strange, half-elven ronin, who attacked Masato for some reason (1) DM Arkhandus: You defeated the hapless ronin, whose luck seemed to have run out, and you slew him, taking his daisho in the hopes of returning them if you ever found his family (1) DM Arkhandus: You proceeded to Kita Chushin, and supped at a local teahouse for a time, some of you relaxing in a nearby bathhouse afterwards, and then all retiring to a decent inn for the night (1) DM Arkhandus: It is now morning, and you are all refreshed from the previous night's meal and bath, and are rising now to continue your journey. ** (3) Kiran spends some time praying to his ancestors, and the spirits... ** ** (5) Daidoji Satoru gets up, eats, puts on his armor, and goes out to the stables ** ** (10) Kai Lyn awakens and prepares her spells for the day then stretches to her fullest extent then heads downstairs ** ** (3) Kiran smiles at Kai Lyn ** ** (8) Masato rises, eats, and then waits for the horses to be ready for travel. ** ** (10) Kai Lyn smiles back to kiran "Good morning." ** (3) Kiran: "Good morning, Lyn-San. It is good to be well-rested again!" (3) Kiran: (er, Chan, sorry) ** (10) Kai Lyn chuckles "Yes it is. I am very grateful to see the sun after a good night's rest." ** (1) DM Arkhandus: As you all do your morning business, the servants assigned to you rise and prepare themselves, the mounts, and the pack mules for the day's ride (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo awakens, dresses, eats his morning meal, and does some exercising outside, while Nerfereti gets up and prepares her sorcerous powers for use this day ** (10) Kai Lyn eats some fruit and prepares for her day's ride shifts to weasel form and her and silverstreak wait for Shujo to depart ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo finds each of his traveling companions and tells them that he wishes to leave before noon, to make good time ** (10) Kai Lyn waits by his horse anxious to leave ** (1) DM Arkhandus: "We'll have to camp out tonight, since there aren't any villages near enough along our route for us to reach today." Shujo tells everyone (1) DM Arkhandus: After a short time, Shujo finds Masato and asks, "Are you ready to leave, Masato-san?" ** (8) Masato nods. "Yes. We should go." ** ** (10) Kai Lyn looks at him waiting ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo nods and then finds Satoru, asking him if he too is ready to leave ** (3) Kiran nods also ** ** (5) Daidoji Satoru waits to leave as he's been at the stables since after breakfast ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo finds Nerfereti and tells her that everyone else is ready to leave, and the two go to the stables where the others are (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo mounts his steed, and says "Kai Lyn-chan, are you ready to go?" (3) Kiran: "Masato, have you any idea why the ronin would have attacked you so?" (1) DM Arkhandus: Nerfereti also gets on her horse, as the head servant tells the other servants to prepare ** (10) Kai Lyn nods ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo says "We will leave as soon as all of you are ready...." ** (3) Kiran nods that he is ready ** (10) Kai Lyn: (I am in weasel form so I can't talk) (8) Masato: "Not exactly. I have a few suspicions." ** (5) Daidoji Satoru mounts up and nudges his horse toward the road ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo calls for a servant, who walks up and kneels for Kai Lyn to climb up onto Shujo's horse ** (10) Kai Lyn climbs up SS follows and we get comfortable on the saddle ** (10) Kai Lyn: (I will get one of those pouches made like Beastmaster uses will make things easier) (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo says "Alright, follow me. We'll head towards the Emerald Champion's palace, and camp out a mile or two from there, then tomorrow we'll head west towards the village Kaeru." ** (3) Kiran whistles for his companion, and a large wolf lops up, stopping perhaps 25 feet away, and the wolf waits... ** (1) DM Arkhandus: A servant hitches a cart back up to Kiran's steed, with blankets and such upon it for the wolf to rest on (1) DM Arkhandus: The servants then begin to mount their horses and get in their carts ** (8) Masato begins riding north, out of the village. ** ** (3) Kiran 's wolf climbs up, and is quickly resting comfortably ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo heads out, Nerfereti and the rest in tow ** (10) Kai Lyn chatters with SilverStreak and contiues to do so all day long ** (1) DM Arkhandus: You ride for several hours across the Heigen No Hayai Mondai, the Plains of Fast Troubles, with nothing eventful, just farmers harvesting their rice in the Crane Clan fields ** (3) Kiran feels quite alien to those present, other than the spirit folk, and mostly keeps to himself ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Before you know it, night begins to fall, and you see the hills nearby and, just barely, the palace of the Emerald Champion (1) DM Arkhandus: After a little more riding, Shujo begins to look around for good places to camp for the night (1) DM Arkhandus: You set up camp for the night in the shadow of a hill, and have a peaceful night of rest. The servants pitch tents and a fire, and prepare your meal for the night. (1) DM Arkhandus: You eat and retire to your tents, and awake the next morning without any problems. ** (10) Kai Lyn shifts to human form asking the servants "Can one of you make a purse like a small saddlebag so my companion and I can be carried in when needed?" ** (1) DM Arkhandus: A servant ponders Kai Lyn's strange question, and mutters "I think we can, Lyn-sama" ** (10) Kai Lyn says "Thank you it will make travelling easier for us." ** (1) DM Arkhandus: During the night, two of the servants work quietly near the fire with some materials from some of the mules' saddlebags ** (3) Kiran kneels by the fire. "My great grandfather is said to have led my people from disaster. He speaks to us still. Do you think there is something larger afoot here? It seems odd that circumstance and my ancestors would all contrive for me to leave my tribe." ** (1) DM Arkhandus: In the morning you prepare for the next day's journey, and Shujo says "We should make it about half way to Kaeru village today, at least." ** (10) Kai Lyn awakens studies her spells for the day preparing for the journey ** ** (3) Kiran awakens from a night of restless sleep and unanswered questions, and communes with the spirits before arising fully ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Nerfereti replies to Kiran, "I do not know, Kiran, but it is certainly odd for one of you Vanara to be seen outside your forests........." ** (3) Kiran nodded, but said nothing more ** (1) DM Arkhandus: Shujo prepares himself for the day's ride once more, and is soon atop his mount awaiting the others (1) DM Arkhandus: Nerfereti likewise prepares again and waits upon her horse ** (10) Kai Lyn climbs aboard his horse again with SS and shifts to her weasel form prepared for another fun day ** ** (5) Daidoji Satoru gets up, eats, puts on his armor, then mounts his horse for the days journey ** (1) DM Arkhandus: A servant tells Kai Lyn "We tried our best to make a pouch for you, Lyn-sama, and we have attached it to Shujo-sama's horse." (1) DM Arkhandus: The servants then dismantle the camp and load everything up to leave again ** (10) Kai Lyn bows "Thank you so much." climbs into the bag along with SS ** (1) DM Arkhandus: You head out once again, this time riding north a short distance towards the Emerald Champion's palace, then turning west and riding through the hills and plains towards Kaeru village ** (10) Kai Lyn and SS chatter and chuckle all day from inside the bag ** (1) DM Arkhandus: You break camp in the afternoon for a brief midday meal, and give your horses a short break. ** (10) Kai Lyn climbs out has a piece of fruit feeding SS a small piece of meat then gets back in the bag ** (1) DM Arkhandus: You eat quickly and prepare to leave again.
