Cinderella passed her therapy dog test after only 2 weeks of obedience classes. She was certified shortly after her first birthday. She is a very friendly Sheltie and loves to go on therapy visits. She enjoys it so much that it is difficult to get her to leave when the visits are over. She has earned her TDIAOV (Therapy Dogs International Active Outstanding Volunteer) title/certificate from Therapy Dogs International for accumulating 150 documented visits. Cinder has been hard at work for over 4 years now, visiting in nursing homes, hospitals, outpatient mental health, and a group home facility and has recently done a couple of Read to a Dog programs which help children gain confidence reading because the dogs are not judgemental. In addition to her visits, Cinder participates in educational programs about dog safety and therapy dogs and community events to help promote therapy dog work. Cinder also served her country after 9/11/011, comforting family members and volunteer workers affected by the tragedy at the Pier 94 WTC Family Assistance Center in New York City.
