It is very early
morning as I wonder into the park. There is a gentle
breeze that has the mist from the evening before swirling around all the
life which lie's in my path. The foliage leaving a dampness on my body
as I push my way through to the wide open valley I so seek to find. The
sun only a reflection on the clouds that seem to follow me showing that
this day will be special. It's red orange glow as the rays are starting
to dance from above to below. My journey has been long. My quest has been
fulfilled. I hold in my pocket's the fire from the dragon I was sent to
find. This dragon was fierce. Eyes glowing of yellow and of red. It was
a battle I never expected as this dragon turned it's head. It started to
speak, posing this question to me. Is it my life that you seek? Standing
before this most awesome sight.With a body as big as many dwellings I have
lived. Its tail flies up and lands around my shadow. The head coming down
till I could feel its breath filling my whole soul with lifes last breath.
I spoke to the dragon. I am hear only to find. This most wonderful spirit
I shun away and wish never to find. Standing tall I look it straight in
the eyes. I seek the fire you breath. But wish you no harm. As such a magnificent
dragon should never be harmed. The world is
so empty from many wonders we have destroyed . Its a very high cost. I
have a princess you see that is a beautiful maiden. But her father sends
me on a quest to new challenge. As I feel it's tail on my back. and it's
eyes seeming to look deep into my soul. It asks, and what might that be?
You know what stories have been told. I Tell this GREAT DRAGON to fulfill
my quest. I have been told bring back your head. But would rather see death.
A dragon so wise and such a sight to behold. Is there a way this quest
can be accomplished without me taking your soul. I knell to one knee and
stab my sword in the hard ground. Offering my soul to this myth I have
found. The dragon is amazed at how long I
have searched. Only to offer my life so it will not be hurt. Raising it's
head with eyes changing to fire. It fills up my pockets and tell's me you
will not be harmed. You have shown your true being. Now I give you this
fire. Carry it back with you. The king will have no doubt. That you stood
before me yet lived to tell. Empty your pockets. They all shall find. What
it is you have seen from a moment of time. I tell you no more. Be gone
right away. Journey back to the people
who wish to challenge me this day. You are of great spirit. You shall win
her heart. The king and his gesture's shall bow to you as the light changes
from dark. I take a moment..Look up to the sky. It is turning to blue.
The suns rays filling my eyes. The mist has vanished as I see the valley
ahead. My mind still wonders from all that the dragon has said. Is my quest
fulfilled? Did I prove to the king I am worthy of his daughter with all
that I bring? I walk to the courtyard. The knight's rushing about. Yelling
you fool you have failed and now the king shall have your head. But I only
stand taller for I know what lies ahead. The sun is now brilliant and shines
for the whole kingdom to see. As they crowd around closely . As if to make
sure I can not escape. I turn to the king. Seeing you standing with such
beauty beside his thrown. Your eyes are filled with disappointment as you
don't see the head. And the king yell's out.. Where is this dragon? Where
is your sword? Only a fool would show himself to me after failing so bad.
Before I take your head. Is there a word you wish to say? A smile fills
my face as I look to the crowd. I look to my left.. then to my right. Then
turn back to the king and shout. I have seen the dragon. and have been
given a gift. For all you nonbelievers with minds so shallow as this. I
take off my coat and throw it into the air. The crowd is now laughing hysterically
and yelling take off his head. Then the coat seems to grow. Turning to
fire and
smoke. As the figure I witnessed magically appears. It's shadow growing
bigger and the wind from it's wing's so fierce. It swoops down at the crowd
and then to the king. You all are such fool's. You laugh at this great
man. He has seen his life and he has faced his
death. To win over a maiden and fulfill his quest. A prince you have sought.
A destiny lead. I am showing you my form. For true bravery is not dead.
This man see's life. As it was intended to be seen. All life of this earth must
come in full circle. From the bee who seeks nectar. To the flower that
carries life on. We all rely on each other for life, For now and beyond.
To take off his head means to raise the sword to us all. Give him his princess
and let it be known. I am the great dragon. Who has guarded this life.
I have watched you all grow. I have watched the great fight's. Bring your
kingdom to peace. Place into his hand's. He is a king above king's. And
now it is time.
I give you my life. For now I have found. The one worthy of all...As the
dragon flies to the ground. It's wing's are now slowing . It's tail lays
there limp. Laying it's head before me. With it's last breath now spent.
I turn to the king. I turn to the crowd. The air is now silent as I see
them all bow. A tear is forming in the corner of his eye. The king gives
of his daughter and makes this reply. All men
have sought it. Yet we never have seen. Just what life has to offer. I
have seen in my dream's. I give up my crown.You have a new queen. As he
walks down the steps. Placing the crown upon me. Take care of this kingdom.
Show it a great life. You have danced with the dragon. And have taken it's
life. To all who have witnessed. All who have seen..
Place your loyalties to your new king.
