We went to an enchanting place last Easter weekend, where history meets the era of the internet and time seems to stay still but everything was definitely booming. A town called Sante Fe.

History lies around virtually everycorner in Santa Fe -- “The City Different.’ Chosen as a provincial capital in 1609 by Spanish governor Don Pedro de Peralta and serving as New Mexico’s state capital today, it is the oldest continuously operating seat of government in the United States. The historic palacio built by de Peralta highlights the plaza at the center of Santa Fe. This unique community offers wonderful entertainment, eclectic shops and galleries, cozy and flavorful restaurants, natural beauty, and a host of lodging options. Friendly proprietors of local businesses invite visitors to stroll from door to door on a leisurely exploration of the treasures within. Boutiques, trading posts, jewelry stores, and street vendors offer beautiful wares that evoke the area’s Native American and Spanish heritage. Southwestern crafts, decorative items for the home and wardrobe, and diverse artwork can be found in the many small galleries.

Museums open windows to the past, as do churches, missions, homes, and
the original Palace of the Governors.Guided walking tours trace the steps once followed by the Po-Pe warriors, conquistadors, and the combatants who fought the most important Civil War battle in the Southwest.

Experience Santa Fe’s architectural traditions by staying in a historic bed-and-breakfast or a modern hotel. Accommodations are available in every price range.

Santa Fe is a city of unusual charm and historical significance. The memories and impressions that you form during your stay are certain to stay with you forever.
