Ladie crossed the bridge on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at 11:00 am. She is resting now after her battle with renal failure (kidney disease). I stayed in the cat condo all night with her the night before she passed away. I took a few snoozes but most of the time I was caressing her and telling her how much I loved her. She had a favorite spot inside a gutted out TV cabinet stuffed with the biggest and fluffiest down feather blanket. She had trouble climbing in and out so I had to assist her a couple of times. She went to the water bowl and was off balance and fell. I thought it was over. I had to hold her up while she drank the water. Then she looked as though she wanted to use the litter box and was having a hard time getting her balance so I brought her over to it and she urinated. She didn't look well at all. This went on throughout the night. She hasn't eaten in days. I am crying my eyes out now and have been the past few days. Our little girl gave it all she had right to the end. Georgette and I decided to have her cremated and her ashes will be sprinkled on our beloved Smokey's grave.
