LADIE'S UPDATES PAGE

2/6/08 - Ladie, our 13 year old kitty crossed the bridge yesterday at 11:00 am. She is resting now after her battle with renal failure (kidney disease). I stayed in the cat condo all night with her the night before she passed away. I took a few snoozes but most of the time I was caressing her and telling her how much I loved her. She had a favorite spot inside a gutted out TV cabinet stuffed with the biggest and fluffiest down feather blanket. She had trouble climbing in and out so I had to assist her a couple of times. She went to the water bowl and was off balance and fell. I thought it was over. I had to hold her up while she drank the water. Then she looked as though she wanted to use the litter box and was having a hard time getting her balance so I brought her over to it and she urinated. She didn't look not well at all. This went on throughout the night. She hasn't eaten in days. I am crying my eyes out now and have been the past few days. Our little girl gave it all she had right to the end. Georgette and I decided to have her cremated and her ashes will be sprinkled on our beloved Smokey's grave. Please say a prayer for Ladie. R.I.P. beautiful Ladie. We will always love you and will be thinking of you everyday until we meet again. Love your mommies, Jane and Georgette.

2/5/08 - Results from Rhinebeck hospital shows kidney failure. Severe dehydration. Not good at all. Euthanasia recommended.

2/4/08 - Ladie is looking too weak and hasn't eaten the past 2 days. Drinks plenty of water. I will call Rhinebeck Animal Hospital today for a second opinion and probably bring her in. Prayers are needed again.

2/2/08 - Ladie is eating on and off and continues to be drinking water and using the litter box. She will be monitored most of the day today. We will be taken plenty of photos which will be posted at this page: Ladie page 9

2/2/08 - Ladie is not eating much. She continues to drink plenty of water and is using the litter box. We will have to monitor her closely again.

1/25/08 - Ladie is doing really good.

1/18/08 - Ladie seems to be building up her appetite since she's been off the amoxicillan. We fed her a different brand of dry food which she devoured! We are hoping that she gains her strength back. Then we will call the doctor and see if we should bring in another urine sample to see how her kidneys are. Prayers still needed.


1/16/08 - After 6 days on amoxicillin, Ladie's stomach seems to be upset and she hasn't been eating well at all. Drinking a lot of water and nibbling her food. She is urinating ok. Called the doctor. We took her off the antibiotic and will continue giving her the thyroid medication. She seemed to be building up an appetite this afternoon around 2pm. Hopefully she will start eating again. We'll take one day at a time.

1/10/08 - There was no problem giving Ladie the amoxicillin orally. We hope this clears her infection.

1/9/08 - Not so good news. Blood results show a kidney infection. Ladie will be on antibiotics for 2 weeks.

1/7/08 - (p.m)Good news! Ladie ate really well this afternoon and evening. We took urine samples from her that we will bring to the vet tomorrow.

1/7/08 - (a.m.)Ladie has not been eating normally in the past 2 days. We have been giving her medication mixed in with her food and was fine until yesterday morning. She is drinking a lot of water. She is up and around and seems fine otherwise. We will see how today goes. If nothing changes we will have to bring her back to the doctor.

12/21/07 - Called doctor back after Ladie being on her meds for 10 days. Told the doctor that she seems to be doing well and no major vomit. Doctor said that Ladie will continue to take thyroid medication.

12/20/07 - Today is day 10 of Ladie being on her medication.

12/17/07 - Today is day 7 of Ladie being on throid medication. She seems to
be doing well. The vomit seems to be gone. There is still very
little vomit here and there but not nearly as much as there has been.

12/10/07 - Ladie has been put on thyroid medication
(1/2 a pill,twice a day) for 10 days. She will be monitored to see if
she continues to vomit. If she does the doctor said to call her and
run some tests. Please pray that she gets well.

12/9/07 - Ladie, our 13 year old kitty, has been
diagnosed with a hperthyroid. Also one of her kidneys is swollen. The
doctor says she may have renal cancer.

12/8/07 - Georgette and I are very concerned about Ladie's
weight loss and we were planning to bring her to
the doctor but due to a severe weather watch
(ice storm), we weren't able to bring Ladie to
the vet. We will call today to bring her in.
