Hours at Work: 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
Well.. First thing this morning, we worked with one of the guys in the lab,
Ed, on installing two cards (a GPIB card and another analog/digital card)
into the three computers and getting them installed. Lindsay, one of
the other girls in my RISE group, apparently got food poisoning and stayed
home sick.
After installing the drivers, we began to decide how we could set up our
IC tests so that leakage current was minimized. Pamela suggested that
we build a test fixture (pot box) that we could use for the set of chips
we're going to be testing now, and that could also be used in the future.
So the goal for the pot box we're building is basically to be a generic pot
box that could be used to do basic circuit tests with a large number of chip
designs. We began coming up with design schematics and even started
drilling holes where switches and power supplies should be placed.
There was also the weekly lab meeting at 4 pm. This lasted a good
while. The speaker for this week's meeting was Suvarcha and she
discussed asynchronous circuits and the role they play in relation to the
research being done in our lab. And by the time this meeting was
finished, it was about time to call it a day.
Tomorrow, we'll be working some more on our pot box as well as fixing up
a coax cable that can be used for the instrumentation we have just received
in the lab.
After work today, I drove myself and Amy to the grocery store and we both
stocked up on food and stuff. mmmm.
So I guess that's my day. For some reason I'm awfully tired today.
I may or may not head to bed early, but we'll see. |
