This abalone was made with the left over sushi makings. Or more truthfully the sushi fish was made out of attempts of getting abalone shell. Pearl polymer clay mixed with a bit of blue, red muted down with translucent, and the thinest hair strans of black, mix and marble so you get waves. The pattern of the shell is rounded on one side and convex on the other. Meet the edges of the convex side and it makes a bowl shape. The edge of the abalone is not evenly round, push in and make waves. Don't forget the holes along the side. Made these darned things no good ashtrays in big parties, ashes always fell out of those darned holes.
