1952-2001
Tragically taken from us in a solo helicopter crash on Wednesday 19th August 2001
Graeme Strachan was well know as "SHIRL" the lead singer of the 70's pop group SKYHOOKS. In his later years you could see Shirl on an Australian T.V program called "OUR HOUSE" , Shirl was a fully qualified carpenter and gave viewers plenty of do-it-yourself tips on the show.Personaly, I will remember Shirl for his music, which I  grew up with in the 70's and the  happy smile he always wore
"May you Rest In Peace"
  1960 -1997
Michael Hutchence was the lead singer of INXS.He "apparently" commited suicide by hanging himself and was found this way  in a hotel room  on 22nd November  1997.
INXS was the band to show the world the kind of talent the Australian music industry had to offer and led the way for future Australian rock bands.
1952-2001
The Australian music industry held a benefit concert to raise funds for their friend Ted in March 2001 but sadly
Ted Mulry lost his battle with cancer on the 21st September 2001 .He formed the group The Ted Mulry Gang (TMG) back in the 70's and I was lucky enough to see them in concert as a backup group to Sherbet here in Perth.
1953-1998
On the 18th July 1998 Marc also lost his battle with cancer.
Marc Hunter was the lead singer in another 70's pop group called DRAGON.They had many hits over the years  and will be remembered for their contribution to Australian music
1947-1980
Bon Scott lead singer of the well known "rock" group AC/DC  was found dead in 1980, his cause of death was alcahol related. He was cremated in Fremantle on the 29th Febuary 1980 and has a plaque in the cemetry memorial garden.Back in the 70's we had groups called "ROCKS'  that wore the black Tshirts , black DB's and jeans , my brother was one of those guys that followed this trend and when AC/DC came to Perth  somehow I was dragged by my bro to the concert .All you could see was black clothes with  AC/DC prints and logo's on their Tshirts and those famous DB's.I sat there  with him while Bon Scott sang  (with that very unique voice lol) and  watched as Angus went wild with his head shaking  and strutted his stuff up on the stage.Although not a fan of this heavy rock music it sure was a great concert and will always be remembered by me

I wanted to dedicate a page to a few or our Australian music legends that have left this world and gone to the heavens where they will  be reunited with all the musicians from over the world that are no longer with us.These people were not ony known for their music but were fathers , husbands sons daughters and mothers.Their music and existance will always live on with those that are left behind
May you all rest in peace and play beautiful music together up in the skys.
JOHNNY O'KEEFE
