Adoption Policies
Most of our Adoption Policies are not set in stone, each animal is individually evaluated, if you have a specific or unusual need in a pet, contact me and let me know.

DOGS:
1.
Most dogs over 20 pounds must have a fenced yard. A lot of dogs that I get are used to having lots of room to run, and I usually don't feel it's fair to take that away.
If they're calmer/lazier dogs, and you have other plans for exercise, some dogs can go to homes without a fenced yard, read their bios.
2. Some dogs can go with children, some can't. Some can go with older kids, and some with younger. I evaluate each dogs as to how they react to sudden movements, loud noises, being startled, having their food messed with, being messed with when they're sleeping, and generally being pulled and tugged on like children do, especially younger kids. How they react to this is how I determine whether or not they'll be good with children.
Although I have no problem with dogs going to homes with kids, with a lot of dogs, I actually prefer they do, but I want to insure it's the right dog/kid combination.
3. Under NO circumstances are any dogs to be outside dogs, be it in a pen, on a chain, or in a fenced yard. Some dogs may be fine outside during the day, in a fenced yard, but all must be allowed inside in the evenings/nights, (basically when you're home) when you're home.
CATS:
1. All cats must be Strictly Indoors, no exceptions, there are just too many dangers outside, and most that I get, I get either as kittens, or adults, that have not been outside, unless they were strays/abandoned.
2. No cats/kittens are to be declawed, ever, period. Cats are pretty easy to train not to scratch on things, and if you can't do that, there are other, far less painful options.
If I find that you have gotten/are planning to get your a cat/kitten adopted from me declawed, that will be grounds for me to immediately retake posession of it.
GUINEA PIGS:
Guinea pigs must be kept in large cages, check out cavy cages.com
They do best in pairs, but that is not required if they don't come to me in a pair.
They also must be fed a fresh diet of fruit, veggies, hay, and pellets every day.
