Birthday in Tokyo

The Japanese may be formal suit-wearing businessmen at work... but they know how to let loose when the sun goes down! This was the party - sitting on the floor having traditional Japanese food.  The after-dinner festivities included a rousing karaoke event.

My Australian colleague Scott who, after the meal was nearly done, announced, "good apetizers - where's the meal?"

Everyone has something to say once they get a little sake in 'em...

Bo (left) and Mads (right) tasting a few strange fish items.  After one that took 5 minutes to get down, I announced "no more chewy ones!"  I think they loved giving us strange things and watching our faces.  I did, however, keep a smile during the crab brains.

Look like a recording session?  The post-dinner karoake was one of the highlights of my trip... Someone said it accurately: "it's just like a B-movie."
