The Enor Mouse

Scientists at Texas A&M University announced a breakthrough in their attempts in genetically-engineering an elephant they crossed with a mouse. They haven't exactly
observed the creature, as yet - but they've discovered enormous holes in their baseboards.

In a related story, scientists at the University of Kansas have spawned a new species of carrier pigeon, by crossing a European strain of the birds with a rare species of mynah found in the South Pacific. Encounters with the strange-looking winged creatures are reported by the Lawrence, KS police department, whose officers are sometimes approached by disoriented mynah-carrier birds, asking directions.

Scientists at Iowa State University have cloned the football team's mascot, a 7-foot fowl affectionately known to the fans as "Cy". This year's mascot functions will be performed by an entire flock of the birds, who will be "billed" as "Cy Clones".

More news to come, as it arrives, from correspondents around the Big12 conference.
