Once In A ... Blue Moon

so they say I am moody
and change like each phase
can be happy one moment
and pout other days

a child of the moon
that's me sensitive
a friend, if you need one
will share and will give

a smile, if it's needed
an ear for your words
a shoulder to lean on
advice, if need heard

come enter my world
of moon, dreams, and rhymes
of music and crafting
of gardens, spend time

relaxing or reading
or listening, your choice
and when finished, just send me
in words, what you voice

Moon Creations By Special Friends

Moon Madness (a sonnet)

The allure of the moon in seduction knows
Rolling, roaring tides and river flashy flows
Cycling across dark skies until fully grown
In over-ripening brilliance it glows.

Its irresistible pull draws the hearts of men
At its utmost strength when her fullness peaks
Reckless daring, tossing the wind, abandons reason.
An ineffable mystery hidden deep in the Poet's pen.

Haunting blue-gray illuminations to entice
Enflaming lovers embraced of impetuous thrill.
Pools of opal shimmer reflect dreams of paradise.
Enclasped, ensnared-grasping desires fulfill.

The ability to imbue strength, or sorely weaken
Enriching love given, or destroying love taken.

Our Moon

Draped in it's silvery light,
It slips quietly into hearts.
Ancient surface folded in on itself,
As a flower yet to bloom.
It's beauty unfurls at night,
Then hides from sun so bright,
Each and every day.
Shining down on earth and sea,
Shimmering beams through forest trees,
Illuminating all that it touches in the dark,
But can never warm anything, but the heart.

She Danced With The Moon

For one brief moment,
she danced with the moon,
reflections of stars in her eyes.
And the shadows produced
flickered long into night,
as she floated on clouds, in the skies.
Raining stardust below,
the birds singing their tunes,
as the sunlight began it's arise.
Then the moon disappeared,
from her world and its view,
leaving sunshine to quiet her sighs.
So she rests by the day,
with her memories of night,
lying back to refresh, energize.
Awaiting the dark
and her moon to appear,
it's face, always, in disguise.
Then she rises once more,
to be swept on the floor,
joining the moon drifting by.
And she'll dance until dawn,
holding dreams within arms,
regretting, the way that time flies.
