My Dream Job,...
as a Supply chain analyst |
|
| Even with the best supply chain intelligence, misalignments between supply and demand occur. The Demand planning and Supply planning are rarely in sync for planning and optimization. Many companies focus resources on optimizing processes when things go as planned, but often do not have a well-defined process or tools to manage situations when things do not. The first step in managing these costly exceptions is to provide a standard and repeatable process when looking outside your existing processes to fix exceptions. Supply chain exception management sets rules for inter-company and intra-company business processes and notify the appropriate parties when these rules are broken. Exception Management system also uses these business rules to uncover problems with inventory management, Demand Planning, shipping, billing, or any other part of the supply chain process. They monitor supply chain data, compare it with the business rules programmed into the systems and identifies and triggers exceptions based on the escalation rules. |
