Okay, I know it's already well into 2001, but I was planning on having this tournament sometime in late 2000 after I had finished a JNSE rendition of one of Purdue's two courses. Well, that never happened (in fact, I've only got 1 hole finished so far), partially because of my heavy schoolwork load last semester and partially because I spent all my JNSE effort on my newest course, called Lost Cypress Golf Links (formerly Theresa Bay Country Club; Theresa dumped me so she doesn't get the honor of a course name anymore). And I couldn't hold it over the holidays because I took a little trip to this football game in California called the ROSE BOWL (which unfortunately we lost, but it was still fun). So I held it during the week of January 15, 2001. Hopefully I'll have a little more time this semester and I'll be able to do some work on Purdue's Ackerman Hills course, among my about 7-8 other unfinished course projects, and I'll have the 2001 Purdue Open later this year on an actual Purdue course, probably Ackerman Hills.
In the meantime, I've held the belated 2000 Purdue Open on my new Lost Cypress Golf Links. This course was created for the Cypress Point Challenge design contest (which I don't think ever really materialized... Joel?), and it is set on the Cypress Point land plot. I think people will enjoy this course, because it is far and away my best ever. There are some absolutely gorgeous holes on it, especially a seaside stretch of five consecutive on the back nine. The course plays 6,628 yards and to a par of 71.

UPDATE
Because of my unscheduled extended stay in Chicago, I reduced the tournament to 36 holes. I apologize on behalf of my junkheap car for any confusion it may have caused.
Thanks for playing, everyone!!
