| Research Interests 1. Physiological and biochemical aspects of the legume/ Rhizobium or Bradyrhizobium symbioses. 2. Ecological aspects of Rhizobium and Bradyrhizobium in soil. 3. Symplastic and apoplastic transport in root nodules of leguminous plants. 4. Ecological and agricultural studies of nitrogen fixation including field measurements of nitrogen fixed. 5. Signalling in plant/microbe interaction; isolation, purification identification and characterization of flavonoid signal molecules (from root and seed exudates which act as inducers or inhibitor of nodulation genes) in the legume/ Rhizobium or Bradyrhizobium symbioses. 6.
