Black Rose Acoustic Society Superb local blues guitarist/singer Mo' Kauffey kicked off the night with a mix of blues, boogie and just a touch of southern in his "stuff". His "Hesitation Blures" and "Mississippi Serenade" blues were just wailing, and he boogied down with a sometimes I'm so happy "I Just Sing". He tapped the set off with an easy ditty called "Dream Sweet Dreams". |
Hey Mo' (NOT stolen from the 3 stooges)...grrrreat time (and so did the crowd) when you played our club. This is a fun, good time act. Really know how to work the crowd while havin' fun. Grrrreat music, grrrrreat volume, grrrreat musicians! Les T' also came along to help in the antics. Our local friend Eddie came & sat in to pick up the bass lines. Maybe I'll see's ya'll at the 5th annual Juke-a-palooza. E-mail me when you get back from the cold! Jack of Classic Wax Bar & Cafe |
Black Rose Acoustic Society Mo' Kauffey made his first appearance on the BRAS stage and astounded the audience. Using a 1940's reconditioned Silvertone guitar, he did "Speed Trap" and "Blind Fiddler" by Hoyt Axton, "Sing a Little Sunshine Song" by Roger Miller, and "You Are My Sunshine" by former Lousianna Governer Jimmie Davis. Mo' closed with an encore "The Weight", made famous by The Band. He proved himself a capable singer and guitarist and undoubtedly will be back. Good show, Mo'. We look forward to seeing you again. |
"......met Mo' at the Pikes Peak Blues Festival and heard him play there.....very impressive!" Jay Bouton, Belvedere Blues Festival |
"Mo' Kauffey.....good music, I like it." Mel Brown |
"Mo' is from a generation that's not very concerned with labels. Mo' always wanted to be a musician and has a strong foundation in the blues but he does not let himself be labeled strictly as a blues man, he is a Musician. Mo' will continue to play in our festival circuit and be involved in the shows we do through out each year." Douglas Randall, Bluesfest International |
"I want to thank Mo' for playing the Beatles for my little girl Maili Ayla at the Bucksnort 8-9-02. She loved the music and said....he sings beautiful mama.....you're great Mo'!" Manda from Kansas |
"Mo' Kauffey, great music! My mom gave me 3 of your cds for my birthday!.....would really like to come and see you when you come to town." Pete Kotlar |
