When hopes turn to facts, when dreams become reality, things turn around, a life much brighter than before, when the future, these children, this dream, that their love is not overlooked, or forgotten, that they will be nurtured, and respected, in all aspects, the natural beauty in their soul, reinforced by the atmosphere around them, all leads to reach higher to a greater peace, for the anguish of others, when love exists from the depth of the soul, and is real and true. (c)2002 Molly Nicole Starving Life Away There is a world hidden by dust, And by forgetfulness, Desperation hidden by lies. "It's starving in the shadow of plenty", she said, I don't know what to do, My heart is breaking, Their heart is failing, They are weak, So weak, And innocent, They have dreams and hopes, Their dreams try to surface to mind, But they're pushed down with helplessness. They say there's hope, Maybe it's a matter of time, The child is terribly sick, The hunger has crippled her, Any kind of cure is too far away, There's no way......, They say there's hope, But this precious life can't wait, She holds her child in her arms, As her tears drip down onto her dark face, So desperate, Yet time almost seems to have stopped, Because with a world with so many riches, Can't we see through the dust? It can get in your eyes and blind you forever. With starvation happening all the time, These people can't be a statistic number anymore, In their eyes they never were, If you just look into their eyes, So sad, You will see a person that wants a chance at life so bad, But there is a dusty haze hiding them from the developed world, Could it be lack of media, Only famines make the news, But this is the norm, Oh I wish the dust would clear, For all the people blinded by the dusty haze between us, More children fall, Weak and helpless, Leave this earth, With their family in tears, When a world so capable, Stood there and looked away. ©2002 Molly Nicole |
