Indian Fry Bread
2 c. flour                                              1 tsp. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt                                      3 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. melted fat (opt.)                    1 c. water
1/2 c. dry milk

Mix dry ingredients together with a fork.  Add water and fat (if used) and knead lightly.  Place on a well floured board and roll 5 to 6 times to smooth dough.  Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.  Cut in 2-inch long triangles and fry in 1 inch of hot grease in an iron skillet until brown.  Turn and brown other side.  Remove and dot with butter.   Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture and serve with honey.
1/2 c. shortening                                  1 pkg. dry yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt                                            1 egg
1/4 c. sugar                                          3 c. flour
1/2 c. boiling water

In mixing bowl, put shortening, salt, and sugar.  Pour boiling water over this and stir until dissolved and cool.  Mix yeast with warm water and add to first mixture.  Add egg and beat.  Add flour to make a sticky dough.  Refrigerate, covered, overnight.

Next day, take out as much as needed.  Roll out and cut with a biscuit cutter or pinch off a small ball.  Dip in melted butter.  Let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours.  Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes approximately 2 dozen rolls.
1 box Jiffy corn bread mix                  1/3 c. milk
1 box Jiffy yellow cake mix               1/3 c. water
2 eggs

Mix all ingredients together for 2 minutes.  Pour into an 8x8 or 6x11-inch pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes (will be tall).  Serve with honey butter.
