Since I first started my yearly Christmas web sight my favorite project has been Angels Among Us.     Being able to share the efforts of our Earth Angels  has meant so much to me.  The The biggest thing I look at in chosing my angels is the  desire to change and better the lives of others.  Okay, so it's not a nobel peace prize or anything particularly notable, but, it means a lot to me.
I gave a lot of thought to my angel for this year, my first Angels Among Us in four years.  The answer was right in my face, so I am proud to announce this years Angels Among Us is  The American Red Cross Blood Services.  Everyone of you from  Red Cross Blood Services down the life saving blood line to the nurses, vounteers and donors, are my personal hero's
.
In 2003 I became very sick and required five blood and three plasma transfusions.   Until I lived it, I had no idea how important blood donation is.  The following February I coordinated my first blood drive.   Working with the Red Cross, nurses, and  volunteers has been amazingly rewarding.  To date we have been able to help save the lives of approximatly 400 people.   I participated as a living proof speaker for the first time this past spring , it was thrilling to meet so many people who have a passion for helping others through the bloodmobile.  There is always a need for type O donors. The Red Cross faces shortages often, particularly in the summer when donations are the lowest.    On 9/11 donors turned out in droves at  sights across the nation.  That is fantastic......but why wait for a tragedy like the horror of 9/11 when you can make a difference to someone NOW.  Each donation can help up to three people.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!   Please donate today!
