Grandma, Antonina LaBuda, came to America from either Austria, Poland or Prussia at age 15 to stay with her aunt (Mrs. Kocanda), mother of Bob b 3/27/1909 d 7/1972 (married Helen d 1998, parents of Bernard), and Johnny b 8/10/1902 d 11/27/1984 (married Estelle d 1989 parents of Carole, Ruthie and Jay). Antonina's aunt lived in Chicago. On December 11, 1961, age 19, Antonina married LeRoy McCall b 1887 Port Byron, IL. At age 20, Antonina gave birth to their first of 6 children, Frank 2/5/1913. I reached Carol Kocanda's answering machine 3 times now, Frankfort, IL, and left both my phone and email address. Search www for Ruthie, Jay and/or Bernard.
Shortly after WWII, Antonina's brother, John, appeared on her doorstep on Wilcox Street, totally unexpected, and a pleasant surprise. John's came to America by way of Canada. His wife joined him in Chicago a few years later where John remained for the remainder of his life.
