Key players: Meredith Starr, 5-5, Sr., G; Carrie Saunders, 5-9, Sr., G; Rachel Robinson, 6-0, Jr., F; Emari Ready, 5-6, Jr. G.
Outlook: Leadership, experience and defense will be the Chiefs strengths as the team returns four starters. Saunders (12.7 ppg, 5 rpg) and Robinson (12.1, 8.8) will be the main scorers on a short team and Starr (7.8 ppg) should also be a reliable shooter. Monacan will once again be a top team in the district. |

Both teams came into the contest undefeated with identical 13-0 records. As the game opened, each team tried to establish their own rhythm. The Knights brought a very physical and aggressive game which resulted in Monacan getting to the double bonus with over three minutes left in the first quarter. However, the Chiefs could not take full advantage of their visits to the foul line, taking only a 9-7 lead at the end of one period.
