His father taught him as much as he could, but his whole family wanted him to become a dragonrider. Unfortently, his father was injured while working- a new blacksmith spilled scalding liquid metal down his right arm and side. He was burned too badly to work as a blacksmith. Marek began working, loading goods and guarding store rooms. He also created metal arrowheads for his brother and sister to sell in the market. His father contacted an old friend- once a soldier- and begged the man to teach Marek, in the hopes taht after he found a job Marek could become a Dragonrider. Marek mastered the sword and dagger, and was trained a small amount in archery. Finally, years later his father's muscles had hardened and healed enough for him to began smithing again. Marek applied for Dragonrider and is waiting to discover if he was accepted. |
