Lt. Michael Edwards

 

 

 

 

Lt. Michael Edwards serves the citizens of Monroe County as the  Criminal Investigator. Lt. Edwards has extensive background in the investigation of all types of major crimes. Lt. Edwards focuses his attention on all types of criminal activity within Monroe County and on occasion assists other agencies with Investigations. 

Lt. Edwards started his career out with the Auxiliary unit of the Brinkley Police Department, which is North Monroe County. Edwards started with the unit in 1988. Lt. Edwards served with the unit until going to work as a Full-Time Officer with Brinkley in January of 1990 and worked there until November 1990, when he took a position as Deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. Edwards was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with the Sheriff's Department in April of 1999. 

Lt. Edwards is a graduate of Brinkley High School and attended and graduated the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1990, while employed with the Brinkley Police Department. Lt. Edwards has continued his education throughout the years by completing numerous training seminars, college courses, and Law Enforcement related courses. 

Lt. Edwards and his wife, Rita are the parents of three children, L.J., Sentreal, and Felicia. They are members of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley where they are very active. Lt. Edwards is a Mason and attends Lodge in Brinkley. 

Lt. Edwards has a wide variety of hobbies, which include, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and raising cattle with his father.  He most enjoys the feeling that he gets when he is able to help his fellow man.
