P O E T R Y
CHRISTMAS

The tree is up, the lights have been strung
The snow has fallen, carols have been sung
We rush around, we shop till we drop
Too much turkey and pie, but we never stop
A childlike heart is what we should seek
Learn to slow down, be loving and meek
The story of Santa we tell to the little ones
Dreams of Rudolph and visions of sugar plums
But the greatest story we sometimes forget
We're more concerned with the presents we get
A baby boy born so long ago
He would give everything, to Calvary he would go
He is the reason we celebrate the day
Because of him Christmas is here to stay
Take a moment to remember why he gave his life
So we could be free from sorrow and strife
The price could be paid by only one
By Jesus, God's only begotten Son
