DON'T STOP PRAYING FOR ME, MAMA

Don't stop praying for me, Mama
Just because I'm now a man
You see, life doesn't always turn out
Quite the way we had planned
Remember me when you kneel down
By your bed tonight
For I am working for Uncle Sam
And tomorrow may bring a fight
All the boys are gone from town
They scattered far and wide
I've seen them all in uniform
Standing tall, faces showing pride
We have seen some awful things
We'll never really be able to forget
When it's a choice of life or death
There's no time to think about regrets
So if you wouldn't mind, Mama
Mention me to the man upstairs
I know he listens to you, Mama
I've seen him answer your prayers
