LET ME BE ME
A fight against racism, prejudice and hatred.
Let me be me
My choices are my own
We may not agree
I don't ask you to
I found joy where you do not
Don't give into hate
I'm no unfeeling robot
Your words cause me pain
You see only race
The color of our skin
Will you please look at my face
I'm human too you know
The one I love is the one I chose
Love is in the heart not the eyes
He is different than you, heaven knows
But his love for me is true
Do not try to silence me
I have the right to speak
Is this still the land of the free
Or did liberty die
