LIFE WITHOUT LOVE

What would our world be like
If we all lived without love
Can we miss what we’ve never known
If we lived our lives for business
Always trying to get ahead of our neighbor
Our joy out the window we’ve thrown
If all we knew was work and sleep
Would our souls have any peace
Would we ever have a reason to smile
Would our countries wage war more or less
Would we fight for our beliefs
Or would they be just a passing style
What would life be worth without love
Would life as we know continue
Or would we all just waste away
Never giving thought to tomorrow
No hope for the future, no joy from the past
Simply living our lives day to day
Life might be simple, maybe good, maybe bad
But a life without love would be hopelessly sad.
