USED TO BE

Alone in the night, two hearts would beat
Waiting for the day they would finally meet
Both had their shares of life's ups and downs
Both had experienced smiles and frowns
Ever so slowly, together they drew
Friendship then love blossomed and grew
Now at last together they stand
Prepared to face life hand in hand
Facing whatever storms may arise
Pledging to keep from all lies
The joy shines out from her soul
He has made her complete and whole
Each has found their other half
Learning to really smile and laugh
Happy at last, souls set free
No more sorrow at what used to be
