"Being Old Doesn't make you so smart"

At the age of 84, life nearly complete, family raised. Now the only thing left to do was to go home to the Lord. She began to wonder if she had done enough well in her life to enter into heaven.

She goes to church every day and pays her tenth out of every check. Her neighbors and friends come to her with all problems and she will sit and solve them for you. She was always there when anyone needed advice.

She always had an opion on everything and she knew she was always right. And if anyone didn't agree with her she just wouldn't speck to him or her for a while.

If anyone ever had the nerve to ask for a loan or anything, she would quickly tell them in a heartbeat, that the bible clearly says if you don't work you don't eat.

Then one night she died, and on her way to heaven she began to plan on how she would spend eternity.

As she approached the gates to heaven she had to stand in line. She could hear as each one accounted for his or her life.

The first one she could hear was a young man, about the age of forty.

The Lord asked him three questions.

1). Did you love your Brother?

Answer: Yes Lord.

2). Did you give the shirt off your back?

Answer: Yes Lord.

3). Do you love?

Answer yes Lord.

The man stepped up and received his wings and robe.

The second person was a child. The Lord asked one question.

Do you love me?

Answer: Yes Lord.

The child stepped up and received her wings and robe.

The third person was right in front of her and there was two questions asked of them.

1). How did you live?

Answer: As fast as I could.

2). How much money did you give to help the poor?

Answer: None.

An Angel reached out and touched him on the shoulder and Puff! They were gone.

Now it was her turn.

As she stepped up to the gate she got real nervous. What would her questions be?

1). Did you give all that you could to anyone that asked it from you?

Answer: No.

As the angel reached out to touch her she woke up. The dream had been a warning to her. There's so much more than to do well. You have to be good. And to love everyone with charity in your heart. Because without charity there can not be any Love. And without love you can never enter into Heaven.

She changed her life and from that day to this she loves with charity in her heart and no one is ever refused any more if there is anything that she can do for him or her she will.

"Down, Down He goes"

By Marilyn Oliver

He walks into the liquor store, calm and very cautious. He walks up to the counter and addresses the clerk. He doesn't want much, just one pint of the cheapest whiskey he has.

You see he must have it now. But it wasn't always like this. At one time he had a wife, children and a nice home, and with a good job he was very blessed.

It all started with one drink when he got home, just to relax you know. But soon one drink became two and then as time went on more and more drinks were needed to relax. Soon he lost count of the amount he drank.

First his job was gone and then his home. And not long after that his wife and the kids. But nothing could stop him. He drank even more to hide the pains of drinking caused. Not even the quilt stopped him.

Now he lives in a cardboard box behind a small café. He begs for quarters and dimes to buy another drink, but today there wasn't much. The need of the whisky was strong and he was about to use the only thing he had left. His fathers gun. He didn't have any bullets but the clerk wouldn't know that. All he wanted was one bottle, and he would pay him back.

So now as he steps up to the counter and he shows the clerk the gun, and as he begins to say what it is he wants, the clerk pulls out his gun and kills the man.

Remember the Lord protects us all, and he makes no difference in anyone. But when Satan uses our weaknesses against us it's all that much harder to fight him. But one prayer to God will increase your strength 100% and with steady prayer nothing will take you from the shadow of the Lords light.
